The municipality of Oldambt has taken an important step in the transformation of youth care. From October 2024, one youth care provider will be responsible for a freely accessible general provision for youth and family support. This facility focuses on strengthening parenting skills and offering practical support to both young people and parents with growing up problems in different stages of life.
Four light youth care products integrated
After a successful pilot, four light youth aid products of the Regional Purchasing Organization Groninger Municipalities (RIGG) will be fully integrated into the general provision. This fits perfectly with the national government's objective formulated in the Youth Reform Agenda to make common, light youth care freely accessible.
From kick-off to one strong partner
The project began with a kick-off meeting and kick-off in which the results of the pilot and the policy goals were discussed. Based on this, the wishes and requirements for the tender were determined. After the tender documents were finalized, the SAS process was initiated, ultimately resulting in the contracting of one youth aid provider who will take on this important task.
Successful transformation
This new approach will be put into practice from October 1, 2024. Merel Wassink, Policy Advisor Youth: “The cooperation between Coppa and the municipality of Oldambt has led to a successful transformation in youth care. Together we have found solutions to help children closer to home and to offer youth care less specialized, with a view to reducing costs.”
