Together with Heineken, we developed the Our-Space concept, based on a thorough analysis of wants and needs of all headquarters employees. The result is a contemporary workplace concept that supports hybrid working and provides zones that encourage meeting and interaction. 'Team spaces' facilitate space for focus and collaboration within departments, while 'Community spaces' allow informal meetings and the experience of Heineken culture. Upon entry, an espresso bar creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The first floor is laid out as a dynamic space for spontaneous meetings and informal consultations, with an all-day multifunctional restaurant as the eye-catcher, with a real Heineken bar but also explicit attention (in color and branding) to non-alcoholic beer.
Throughout the day, the first floor provides space for collaboration, lunch, drinks, townhalls and other events. Customizable color lighting allows the space to match any type of meeting. On the floors, collaborative and individual video call rooms enhance productivity. Homebases and team spots provide visibility, connection and collaboration within teams. With stylish event spaces and sky bar on the upper floors, everything is in place to host meetings in a unique and atmospheric private location.
Culture and purpose as an engine for an inspiring office full of creativity and fun!
In an international work environment, it is essential that employees of all cultures and generations feel connected to each other and the brand. The new concept focuses on strengthening culture and interaction. Heineken wants the new interior to inspire all users, especially generation Z. Creativity and authenticity are the starting points here. The purpose 'We brew the joy of true togetherness' is visible everywhere and stimulates all senses.
Applying 'real' materials
The use of various textures and the application of as many "real" materials as possible reinforces this experience. Custom made wall and floor rugs, tough mesh panels, floor texts, an insta-wall and a 3D petfelt wall are some examples of the visual statements. All artworks tell their own story, based on input from users and the Heineken core values and philosophy.
Space for atmosphere of the brands
Each floor breathes the atmosphere of a different international beer brand: from Tiger Beer and Desperados to Tecate and Birra Moretti. Each brand has been given its own use of color and imagery, making each floor unique and recognizable. The result: a vibrant, positive workplace that people enjoy coming to.
Sustainability and creativity in execution
Sustainability and circularity were central to the execution and realization, fully supervised by Hospitality Group. Materials were reused wherever possible, such as the redeployment of existing desks, reuse of plant pots (repainted), revitalization of office chairs (technically overhauled and reupholstered) but also the replacement of kitchen equipment. In addition, "leftover materials" have also been used creatively. For example, old wooden beer crates were used as screen raisers and wooden slats, which previously served as privacy strips on glass, were disassembled and used for wall finishing.
The (re)use of authentic materials and customized Art Pieces, such as insta-walls and unique textures, make the spaces not only visually attractive, but also future-proof and, in parts, circular. Through close cooperation with suppliers and careful project management, an inspiring environment has been created that connects employees and gets them moving.
A work environment international allure!
With a nod to Heineken's purpose: "We brew the joy of true togetherness," an office was created where happiness and connectedness are central. The result is a vibrant working environment with international allure where employees enjoy coming. The fact that office occupancy increased from 54% to 80% over four days after completion shows that an inspiring work environment adds value for every employee!
